Is Coffee Advisable for Kids

Old folks say that coffee can make your anxious and nervous, it's why drinking coffee is not advisable for children. How true is this?

Coffee may in general be fine for kids, but it depends on the dose. We think of coffee as a diuretic. But recent studies have shown it's only a diuretic at high doses -- above 575 milligrams. Have some water if you exceed that amount. 575 milligrams is a little less than three cups of coffee, but that's three regular size cups. But we have to remember the cups we have nowadays are big cups. So, it's easy to have more than 575 milligrams.

While caffeine does not stunt children's growth, too much caffeine can cause symptoms like hyperactivity, insomnia, nervousness, nausea, irritability, headaches, anxiety, and even muscle tremors or irregular heartbeat.

Well, I would have to say, all things in moderation. There do definitely seem to be some health benefits. The more we're learning, research is leaning on the side of it being good for you. It lowers the risk of Parkinson's disease and Type 2 diabetes. It mediates depression. But the benefits are dose-related.

To me, I still believe children should be given milk, not coffee.

Is Kopi Luwak "Coffee from Civet's Cat Poop" Healthy?

In my old blog, I've talked about the world's most expensive coffee as some sort of coffee from an animal's poop. Now let's talk why this Poop Coffee, or better known as Kopi Luwak (Civet's Coffee) tastes so incredibly delicious and has even become the world's number one coffee.

Arguably the most expensive coffee in the world, Kopi Luwak is coffee that has been allowed to pass through a Civet Cat’s digestive tract. After roasting it is then packaged and sold for as much as US$ 600 a pound to “discerning” (read as clinically insane) customers. Tasty, tasty bum coffee; isn’t Ass to Mouth a big no-no?

However, as is the case with all coffee, science has discovered that our favorite morning beverage can do wonders for your health. Coffee reduces the risk of an individual developing Type II Diabetes, significantly lowers the chances for developing Colon cancer, and even helps reduce the risk of Parkinson’s Disease. In this sense, Kopi Luwak is a healthy living winner, but you could probably just drink Folgers instead.

Most Delicious Coffee in the World - An Animal Coffee?

It's called Kopi Luwak.

This coffee that is "processed" in the digestive tract of a civet cat, Paradoxurus hermaphroditus. Stomach enzymes have a subtle chemical impact on the coffee beans, which are gathered as soon as possible after pooed by the civet.

These animals are found in southeast Asia and are related to mongooses, although they look and behave a bit like raccoons. Civets eat mostly ripe berries, fruits and seeds, but also small vertebrates and insects. Since the civets do not eat coffee berries exclusively, luwak-processed beans are not common. As the bean passes through the civet's digestive system the harsh proteins that we detect as a bitter taste are removed and the bean is passed through his system.

Once the process is complete, the Kopi Luwak beans are gathered and thoroughly cleansed before being dried in the sun. This process takes a great deal of care and you should know that when you buy Kopi Lowak coffee, this is the quality you get along with the natural rarity of the bean itself.

If you want a pleasant, smooth and an ever-satisfying coffee then you must try this animal coffee. It's well worth the purchase. When you buy Kopi Lowak coffee you are stepping beyond one of the best experiences you're likely to find as a coffee drinker.

The Best Form of Coffee Known

Organic, high-quality and freshly ground is the best form of coffee. The good parts of coffee that contain antioxidants come from the first brew, when the water passes over the grounds. In a pot of coffee, the first cup or two that comes out has the most essential elements that may benefit us. The other 6 cups are less healthy, as they are mostly the acidic, volatile oils and caffeine.

This part of the coffee harmful for the intestinal lining and body. If you drink the first extract by drinking it in the form of espresso, where a small amount of water is rushed over the beans quickly, this allows you to have all the great flavor without the over-extracted volatile oils and caffeine. From my observation, I have seen that most Americans load up on lattes. I am astonished by the fact that, more and more, coffee beverages are sounding more like desserts.
Pass on the heavy cream, sugar, whipped cream, chocolate sauces and Italian syrups.
